mountain huts
I had the great pleasure of experiencing mountain hut life this summer. It opened my eyes to almost another world, I never knew some much activity existed high up in the alps. During the 4 days, I stayed at the vignette, dix and the weissmies hut. From hearing stories from guides and alpine climbers I was lucky to experience the nicest huts, I heard some pretty grim tales so I was very fortunate to say in well cared for huts by the amazing hut guardians who basically run the show. I was amazed how everything was organised as soon as you land in the huts to when you leave in the early hours.
Every time now when I look up from the valley to the alps, i can just image the hustle and bustle before dinner time. i feel very lucky enough to have my first taster of mountain hut life this year. Thank you guardians for looking after me.
